STEM Smart: Lessons Learned from Successful Schools
Washington, District of Columbia
This meeting highlighted issues in the NRC reports, Successful K-12 STEM Education and Monitoring Progress Toward Successful K-12 STEM Education, with special focus on the critical importance of STEM learning and early intervention in pre-K through third grade. It included breakout sessions on projects, resources and initiatives—funded by the National Science Foundation—that align with the reports' evidence base on effective instruction, access to high quality STEM for all students, and building supportive infrastructure.
This STEM Smart meeting was planned in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution and Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center.
